This event is a qualifier for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships 2011. In the nominated qualifying classes the TWO highest placed riders (or pairs) who are BHS Gold members ON THE DAY OF THE QUALIFIER will qualify for the final. In the event of a horse/pony and rider already having qualified the qualification will pass down to the next eligible competitor. You must provide the entries secretary with your BHS Gold number when you enter but we recommend you also carry your membership card on the day. Non-members may enter qualifying classes but will not be eligible to qualify. Horses registered for BE trials in 2011 are not eligible to qualify for the finals (‘BE day tickets’ are acceptable).

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
At qualifying events, in nominated qualifying classes, the TWO highest placed riders (or two highest placed Pairs) who are BHS Gold Members on the day of the qualifier, will qualify for the final. In addition to this the first and second placed riders may also qualify if they are not BHS Gold members provided that they become BHS Gold members within seven days of the qualifier. Only those riders who have jumped a clear round at the qualifying competition will be eligible to compete in the final.
Successful riders who qualify for the finals will be awarded special qualifying rosettes and qualification cards at the qualifier. Riders then need to forward the qualification card to the BHS Competitions Office after the event.
When entering a qualifier, you must provide the Entries Secretary with your BHS membership number, we also recommend that you take your membership card with you on the day of the competition.
SCORING 1st refusal 10 points, 2nd refusal 20 points, 3rd refusal ELIMINATION, Fall of horse or rider on any part of the course 30 points
Any competitor infringing the rules may be disqualified from further competition
Any competitor taking the wrong course (unless corrected) will be eliminated but may complete the course provided preference is given to all other horses.
Competitors will be sent singly, except in the pairs class. All classes to be ridden at a fair hunting pace
B.H.S. approved hard hats with out a peak, with the chinstrap done up at all times and correct footwear MUST be worn along with medical armbands. Back protectors are strongly recommended. Hair should be securely fastened above the collar and hairnets worn for safety.
The judge’s decision is final. Any objection must be made to the Secretary’s box within 15 minutes of the alleged incident accompanied by a deposit of £10 refundable if the objection is sustained.
Dressing fences to be jumped by both horses / ponies together, side by side in the pairs classes.
Misuse of the whip as designated in the Riding Club rule book will result in elimination.
All persons attending this event do so at their own risk. The Weymouth & District Riding Club and Landowners accept no responsibility for any accident, injury or loss, which may occur to any animal, competitor, spectator or property whilst on the grounds.
A whistle or flag will be used to stop any competitor on the course in the case of an accident or fence being knocked down, so please be alert during the event.
Entry fees are not refundable except on production of a Vet’s certificate or under Rule 14
The Event Committee reserves the right to cancel, restrict or amend any class should the number of entries warrant.

Class 1 – Beginners Novice 70cm Height 2'0" – 2’3”
For horses or ponies that have not been placed 1st to 6th in any Hunter Trial / ODE.
Entry Fee: WDRC Members £12 Non Members £14
Numbers will be restricted if necessary
Entrants in this class may not enter classes 3 to 5
Class 2 – Restricted Novice 70cm Height 2'0"-2’3”
For horses or ponies that have not been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any
Hunter Trial / ODE.
Entry Fee: WDRC Members £12 Non Members £14
Numbers will be restricted if necessary
Class 3 –Novice 85cm height 2'6" - 2'9"
For horses or ponies that have not won more than £30 prize money in any Hunter Trial / ODE. This class is a qualifier for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships 2010.
Entry Fee: WDRC Members £12 Non Members £14
Numbers will be restricted if necessary
Class 4 – Pairs Open 85cm Height 2'6" - 2'9"
Open to any pair of horses or ponies. This class is a qualifier for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships 2010.
Entry Fee: WDRC Members £15 Non Members £17
Numbers will be restricted if necessary
See Rule 9: Course will include approx. 6 fences to be jumped together.
Class 5 – Open 95cm Height Approx 3'0"
This class is a qualifier for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships 2010.
Entry Fee: WDRC Members £12 Non Members £14
All Classes have Rosettes to 10th Place
BE number bibs will be used; loan bibs are available for a £10 refundable deposit. New bibs will be on sale £8 each.
